i come from a hardcore jw family... an example for all in the hall... but we always read our fortunes from the fortune cookie, just for fun. wow, now i know i had it pretty good. i was also allowed to at least look at the fireworks even when it was a national celebration... i was just rolling in freedom wasn't i???

while searching for any stake references in the organized to do jehovah's will publication (c) 2004, i stumbled on this tidbit.
jesus gets four pages and a bit in chapter 2 under, "recognizing christ's role in god's arrangement".
by comparison, "trusting the "faithful and discreet slave" gets just under seven.
considering the fact that the faithful and discreet slave class is the mediator between God and everyone who is not annointed, why bother mentioning jesus at all? also, the organization is tangible. jesus is not. jehovah's witnesses thrive on the things seen. they'll never admit it, but everything important to them is visible... whether it's writing down the hours a they get in field service or commenting or keeping tabs on the worldwide growth, it's all about the exterior of the cup

last night i posted about the witnesses being on the news with a clip of the assembly in san diego.. well, when the news actually came on at 10, they had a full news segment on the assembly.
quite extensive, and even interviewing the chairman of the convention.. here is the kicker:.
during the entire segment, big bold letters stating jehovah's witnesses.
or maybe it's a subtle way of introducing new light... you know, see how the r&f react and then tell them that jehovah told the gb how jesus really died.

i dont know how anyone attends when they are closet apostates... i find it hard pretending im not an apostate to my still-JW friends... everything somehow comes back to JWism... even the way they speak, it's like u can tell them from a mile away and it makes me so sick... but i guess other people (stilla) have it much much worse... attending meetings/ conventions etc...

at the portland maine district convention that was held this past weekend, brother buck from brooklyn bethel gave the last talk on sunday.
in this talk he mentioned the "millions of people that have left" in the recent past.
he also mentioned them in the concluding prayer.
or maybe we should all respond to his heartfelt prayer and return to the best thing we could ever have in our lives... the society. also, maybe we should drink poison

you start as a worldy guy and and while collecting points you gets a home bible study, becomes a unbaptized publisher, reg.
publisher, ms, elder and so on.. .
i like samuel's idea... if it's an RPG type of game, there would be many tasks to be completed along the way... placing mags, doing return visits... attending meetings, commenting, giving talks... all-the-while moving ahead, progressing towards higher posititions in the congregation... you have to make the right decisions too; if you are an elder, you will have to be a part of judicial committee meetings and if you make the wrong decision about whether to DF the person or not, you could be demoted...
maybe the whole object of the game is to get to be a governing body member. once you get to that position, you win. but it takes years of playing and a lot of indoctrinating

bring back bags of fast food that say "burger king".
or "mcdonalds" on them.
how about getting fake attendant badges??? it's not like they have barcodes on them... imagine an apostate attendant? instead of those "quiet please" signs they carry around during the sessions, you could have an important, LIFE-SAVING message on that little sign... patronize, patronize, patronize the society and their wonderful kingdom of drones...

i was a jw for a number of years as a kid, but i don't remember them doing anything to help the community.
many churches in my area have soup kitchens, clothing/toy drives, and other services to help people in need.
do jehovah's witnesses ever use proceeds in this way, or are they all used to make more watchtowers, books, and kingdom halls?
if by "less fortunate" u mean "the society", then YES OF COURSE ALL THE TIME!!!
